What is Registration Ready and why do I have to do it?
Registration Ready is a means by which the University collects information regarding when you think you will graduate, whether or not you wish to purchase health insurance, etc. This information is updated every semester which means every student must complete Registration Ready every semester.
Colorado State University provides Registration Ready as a process that can be completed before your registration time begins. This enables you to register for courses as soon as your appointment time arrives.
What is a CRN?
A CRN is a Course Reference Number. Every section has a 5-digit identification number. This is referred to as the CRN for the course.
How do I find the restrictions and prerequisites for a course?
Once you have found the course by searching through the class schedule, click on the CRN. This will take you to the Detailed Class Schedule page. Restrictions, along with add and drop and withdrawal dates, will be displayed here. Click on the Catalog Entry link to see the prerequisites for a course.

My advisor told me to take BZ110. How do I find it?
To find a course via the Class Search page when you don't know the description of the course but do know the prefix, you can scroll through the subjects keeping an eye on the last part of each description. Subject codes (also known as course prefixes) are at the end of every subject description. Once you have found the subject, highlight it. Put the course number in the Course Number field and click on Class Search. All sections of that course will come up for you.
How do I get my advising code?
Your academic advisor will provide your advising code after your advising session.
Who is my academic advisor?
You may be able to see who your academic advisor is in RAMweb. Return to RAMweb Home and select the "My Advisor" link in the "Registration" section. If your advisor isn't listed in RAMweb and you've a declared major, contact the academic department office of your major. Otherwise, contact the Center for Advising and Student Achievement at (970) 491-7095.
How do I know which recitation/lab goes with which lecture?
If you know a course has more than one component, lecture plus recitation and/or lab, click on the CRN for the course. This will take you to the Detailed Class Schedule page. This page will have the information regarding additional components for which you need to register. There will be information regarding any specific recitations/labs for which you will need to register.
How do I change the credits for a variable credit course?
When you register for a variable credit course, the number of credits for which you are registered will default to '1'. On your course schedule page click the number of credits associated with the variable credit course. This will bring up the "Change Class Options" page where you can change the number of credits for a variable credit course. You must enter only whole numbers for variable credit courses. Once you have submitted the changes, click on the Add or Drop Classes link to take you back to the Registration Page.
How do I find AUCC/Core Curriculum courses?
Click on the Class Schedule on your RAMweb Home. Click on the first subject. Scroll down to the last subject with the scroll bar. Hold down the [Shift] key and click on the last subject at the same time. This will highlight all subjects. Go to the Attribute Type search box and find the AUCC category for which you are searching. Highlight it. Click on Class Search at the bottom of the page. The courses that can help fulfill that AUCC category and are available in that term will appear.
How does the new AUCC impact Continuing Students?
Beginning fall 2007, the following changes in the AUCC will take effect:
- The Arts and Humanities requirement (Category 3B) is being increased from 3 credit hours to 6 credit hours
- The following categories are being deleted:
- Logical and Critical Thinking (2B)
- US Public Values and Institutions (3F)
- Health and Wellness (3G)
- The intermediate foreign language courses currently listed in a subcategory of Additional Communication (2A3) will be moved to the list of courses under Arts and Humanities (3B).
Refer to the Courses for Revised AUCC Effective Fall 2007 document for a description of the categories, along with a list of courses that fulfill each category.
All continuing students will move to the new AUCC with the following policies:
- If a student has fulfilled categories 1-3 of the AUCC before the beginning of the fall 2007 semester, he/she will have fulfilled categories 1-3 of the new AUCC.
- If a continuing student has not completed categories 1-3 of the AUCC prior to the fall 2007 semester, the University will use any already completed category in the AUCC that is disappearing to fulfill the additional 3 credits in Arts and Humanities.

Why won't the system let me change my lab section without dropping my lecture too?
You can change lab sections without dropping your lecture also by adding the lab section you want at the same time you drop the lab section you don't want. Use the drop down arrow next to the lab section you don't want and select "Drop Course On Web". Before you select Submit Changes, add the CRN of the lab you do want to the Add Classes Worksheet. Now select Submit Changes. You have now replaced the old lab with the new lab.
