Follow these steps to access eChoices:1. Go to http://career.stuser.colostate.edu 2. Click on eChoices, near the bottom of the page. 3. Once you get to the first eChoices page, click on Jump In . 4. Enter the following information: Access ID: 1004467 Password: mycareer (If you would like to create your own account, click on Create New Account and make your own account name and password. This will allow you to return to your personal, saved information.) 5. In order to make the process more personal, we suggest that you take each of the three assessments on the left hand side of the screen: Work Importance Locator (values), Interest Profiler , and Transferable Skills Checklist . (You may go directly to the next step, occupations search, and select search topics without utilizing your personal career assessments, but this first step will enhance your personal search.) Review your results. Do they fit your image of yourself? 6. Once you are back to the main page of eChoices, click on Occupations on the left hand side of the screen. 7. Now, click on Occupation Search. Notice that career options appear on the bottom of the screen. 8. You may narrow your search for occupations by using the Search Topics listed on the right. Each time you work through one of these areas you will narrow down your list of occupations. Choose one of the topics. For example, click on Interests , if you have not taken the Interests assessment. Choose 1 or 2 types of interests by checking the boxes of the topics in which you are interested. Then, click continue . This will begin to narrow your occupation search. If you have taken this assessment, choose another topic, like Earnings or Work Conditions . 9. Review your list and click on any of the occupations that look interesting to you. You will be able to access information about job responsibilities, work environment, salary, educational level, occupational outlook, etc. Use the enclosed worksheet to record information. 10. Finally, it is always wise to review your assessments and discuss them with a career counselor and your academic advisor. Enjoy and good luck! Academic and Career Assessment web activity:1. To narrow down your list, choose at least 3 or 4 criteria from the "Search Topics Available" (top, right hand side of screen). If your list continues to be long, you can shorten it by selecting more criteria. When you have a manageable list, answer the following question: 6.
