Student Involvement
"A key to success is getting involved in your community; at CSU there are a wide variety of organizations and groups to participate in, for almost any interest. Becoming involved has proved to help improve grades and help to network students, preparing you for the future. You may know you would like to get involved in student activities, but have no idea how to find the group you are looking for. There are too many groups and clubs to create a full and comprehensive list. Below we have links to various types of organizations, to help speed your search. If you are interested in a club with an academic basis, stop by the department that would logically host such a club.
CASA Supported Groups
These groups are hosted by or involved with the Center for Advising and Student Achievement.
Health Professions Clubs:
CASA sponsors seven pre-professional clubs for pre-health and pre-vet students. These clubs are:
- Premedica
- Pre-Physical Therapy Club
- Pre-Veterinary Association
- Pre-Dental Club
- Pre-Occupational Therapy Club
- Pre-Pharmacy Club
- Pre-Optometry Club
These clubs are student run and meet regularly during the school year. They sponsor informational speakers and events, provide an opportunity to meet other students with similar interests in the health professions, and an opportunity to participate in campus and community events.
How do I participate in and join a club? The first thing to do is subscribe to a club list serve. Each club has its own list and by subscribing to one or more of these lists you will receive timely and important information via email.There is no cost to sign up for the list serves - just be sure to check your email account on a regular basis. Through the list serve you can receive information about club meetings, events, and volunteer or job opportunities, and much more!

The Intra-University College Council is the Intra-University Student Government. If you are a student in the Intra-University College you can join the IUCC! They represent Intra-University Students' interests at Colorado State University. Don't fret if you're not an Intra-University Student, you can join ASCSU, the Associated Students of Colorado State University, the Student Government for all of CSU, or you can join your own college's Council. See your college for more information about joining.

Student Activities:
These groups, clubs, and organizations are almost all led by students here at CSU. Following is a breakdown of the different types:

Get involved through the Lory Student Center or the Student Organizations Office. Community Organizations: FortNet and the City of Fort Collins, are good places to start.
Preview Student Staff:
If you are interested in helping Students get acquainted with and experience the Colorado State community then this is the group for you. Preview hosts orientation for freshmen and transfer students. Preview also throws Ramfest, a "welcome to CSU" party the last weekend before school in the fall.

These groups are based outside of Center for Advising and Student Achievement.
Student Advocacy and Support Services:
The offices provides assistance through peer assistance, academic success classes, group study, progress reports from faculty, workshops, and tutoring referrals. In addition, students can meet other students with similar backgrounds and learn about supportive student organizations and cultural and educational programs. A wonderful resource for finding the group for you!

Student Media:
Student Government:
- ASCSU - Colorado State University's student government. They determine how student money is spent and have a say in legislation affecting students.
- IUAC - Intra-University students have representation in CSU's student government - ASCSU senators. If you are or have ever been an Intra-University student, you are eligible.
- Other College Councils - Each college has their own council who also send representatives to senate.
International Programs:
There are many students from around the world at CSU. Get to know them and their cultures! Their are a ton of cultural and literature groups to choose from, as well as many activities throughout the year. Or for those of you serious about your international education, Study Abroad.
