Pre-Health
Majors

Many students who are interested in health professions are motivated by their strong interest in sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics. Although successful applicants for health profession programs will complete a rigorous science curriculum, there are no preferred or recommended majors for students who will go onto post-baccalaureate programs in health-related fields. In fact, students who have chosen majors in the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Applied Human Sciences, Business, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts, Natural Resources, Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences have been admitted into health profession programs.

Below is a PARTIAL list of potential majors for students interested in pursuing careers in health professions.

It is of the utmost importance that each student works with a Health Professions advisor (who will assist the student in preparation for a professional program) in conjunction with her/his CSU major advisor (who will guide the student toward successful completion of her/his Bachelor’s degree at CSU).

To contact a health professions advisor, please call the Center for Advising and Student Achievement at 970-491-7095. The front staff will gladly set an appointment for you.
