Health Profession Programs
Health Profession Advisors at Colorado State University offer advising for students interested in careers in: Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Physician Assistant, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Optometry, Chiropractic, and Podiatry.
At Colorado State University students may choose a major out of more than 65 fields of study. All students will work with a major advisor to ensure they meet graduation requirements. Those students who interested in health professions will also work with Health Professions Advisors to ensure the incorporate the prerequisites for professional programs into their major program of study.
Regardless of the major students choose, students who plan to continue their education in Health Professional programs will work with Health Profession Advisors to satisfy the “ABCs”* required of those who apply to these post-graduate programs.
*Academics—a strong GPA, appropriate science, math and elective courses.
Background—research, volunteer and community service, experiences that demonstrate your compassion, leadership and communication skills.
Confirming Clinicals—volunteer or paid experience in health related fields, shadowing and informational interviews with health professions, and involvement with pre-health professional student organizations.
