TransCentral Procedures
Dates vary, but generally:
October - November
February - April
Students first meet with an Admissions Counselor beginning at noon in Ammons Hall. Appointments will be scheduled in 45-minute intervals; with five students seen each day. The Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA) advisor sees the student after the student’s scheduled time at Admissions. (top)
Appointments will be scheduled by the Admissions Office, but walk-ins are also possible. Therefore, we will need to be somewhat flexible within the scheduled times.
When a student meets with an advisor, he/she will have seen an Admissions Counselor, has a tentative transfer evaluation, transcript copies, a Degree Audit Report System (DARS) and a green tracking form. This tracking form has space to briefly note your interactions with the student and must be returned to Admissions. If the student needs financial aid information, refer her/him to Student Financial Services at the Administration Annex.
The Role of the Center for Advising
and Student Achievement
Our role is to provide initial advising, review AUCC requirements,
explain Degree Audit Report System (DARS), their transfer credits, give them
key advisor name and number, answer general questions and give them
orientation information. If he/she is an Intra-University student,
we can advise the student more specifically and give his/her advising
code, if on system. We can also answer general questions and provide
information as available such as Next Step, Fall/Spring Orientation,
etc. Give the student the tentative transfer evaluation, a check
sheet, their Degree Audit Report System (DARS) and Key Advisor referrals as needed.
Check ARIES and see if the student is on the system. If not, keep a list with the name, ID, major, any notes on student and try to submit comments later. (top)
