Academic Difficulty:

How can a student who is on the second semester of academic probation appeal dismissal from CSU?

A written appeal may be submitted to the Center for Advising and Student Achievement (CASA)for consideration by the Scholastic Standards Committee. If an appeal is granted, students have one additional semester to bring their cumulative GPA to a 2.0.

Students must complete an appeal form and write a letter stating they have identified why their grades have fallen, what steps they have taken to improve and the anticipated results. The appeal will be more credible if accompanied by supporting documentation from doctors, therapists, professors, advisers, student dorm assistants, parents or friends, etc. There is a deadline by which students must appeal.

Students who wish to appeal dismissal from CSU should scheule an appointment (491-7095)to meet with an adviser in the Center for Advising and Student Achievement, 202 Aylesworth NE. The adviser will discuss the process by which the dismissal may be appealed.
