New Student Information:

Where can students find review materials for a math placement exam?

The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University offers two distinct placement exams -- the Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE) and the Entry-Level Mathematics (ELM) Exam. Typically students begin by taking the Mathematics Placement Exam.
Students are advised to carefully select the appropriate review materials based on these descriptions, and to study before attempting either of these placement exams.

Students may also visit the IMP Tutoring Center, 136 Weber Building, and meet with a tutor to prepare for the exam.

A student must pass a placement exam before s/he will be allowed to register for any math course at Colorado State. The University requirement of 3 credits of mathematics must be completed before the student completes 60 credits at CSU.
