New Student Information:

How can students prepare to meet with their academic adviser?

Preparing a list of questions would be helpful.

*The student may want to ask the adviser's recommendation for specific courses or course combinations.

*The student may need information about declaring a particular major, minor or Interdisciplinary Studies Program.

*The academic adviser can provide information about a Key Adviser in a major in which the student may be interested.

*If a student is on Academic Probation s/he may want to discuss campus resources that can be of assistance with study skills and test preparation. The academic adviser may want to discuss dropping a course in which the student is having difficulty.

*The student should bring any information, such as checksheets, that the adviser gave her/him at their the last time you meeting.

*If the student plans to take courses at another institution, s/he should discuss those particular courses and use CAS equivalent courses at CSU.
